Tuning into Chinese Blogger Conference Channel

Live transcript from Chinese Blogger Conference 2006

This year's Chinese Blogger Conference has just begun. I'm now in Global Voices' IRC channel, following the live English translation of Keso's keynote speech on "Life Transformed by Blog":

"What our society lacks, he said, is not objectivity but honest thought and ideas by individuals. The more people express their perspectives, a more representative objectivity will emerge in the aggregate. Objectivity is not just handed down to you by some authority from on high, he said, the way some people might like to think."

See also Rebecca Mackinnon (in English) and Ching Chao (in Chinese) for on-site live conference blogging.
